Something has to let go before anything can fly.
The feather leaves the bird. Leaves the branch, the nest, the version of itself it used to be part of. For a second it's just falling — no direction, no shape, nothing holding it up. And then, without deciding to, it starts becoming something else. Not one thing anymore. A flock. Already climbing.
You let go of things you thought you needed.
The job that wasn't it. The relationship that kept asking you to be smaller. The plan you built your whole identity around. Letting go of any of it felt like falling — like losing the shape you knew how to be. Nobody tells you that the falling and the rising are the same motion. That release isn't the opposite of rise. It's the beginning of it.
You didn't lose something when you let go.
You became something.
release and rise.
