There's a version of you that used to live in that place.
The old apartment of who you were — the anxious thoughts, the relationship, the job, the story you told yourself about what you deserved. You had a key. You knew every room. Some days it's still tempting to visit.
But you moved. You packed up, changed the locks, and built something new somewhere else. That old address doesn't have your mail forwarded to it anymore. You're not in denial about the past — you just don't reside there.
Growth isn't pretending the old place never existed. It's simply not living there anymore.
i don't live there anymore.
